v1.c17.32
One passage from the Taittirīyasaṃhitā has become the starting point of brisk discussions about a possible relationship between the Carakaśākhā and the practice of medicine. This passage104 censures the twin healing gods, the Aśvins, as impure beings because they are physicians who roam about (cara) in the human world; a brāhmaṇa should therefore not practise medicine.
