v1.c21.47
The assembly of sages on the slopes of the Himālayas is, with the Carakasamhitā as its model, also described in Bhāvamiśra’s Bhāvaprakāśa (I.1). There it is said that Bharadvāja was the first one to arrive. The story of his being deputed by the sages is the same as in the Carakasamhitā, but it is preceded by a parallel version in which Ātreya, on his own account, goes to Indra’s heaven and receives the āyurveda.
