Hemādri’s Lakṣaṇaprakāśa calls Bhr̥gu an āyurvedasya kartar.²⁴⁵ The Br̥hannighaṇṭuratnākara regards him as the author of a medical saṃhitā.²⁴⁶ Some Indian scholars refer to him as the author of a lost rasāyanatantra.²⁴⁷ Bhr̥gu is mentioned as a medical authority, called Nan-spoṅ, in a Sanskrit-Tibetan lexicon, called Mahāvyutpatti, prepared by order of the King Khri-lde sroṅ-bćan (816–838).²⁴⁸
