Yogindranāthasena was born in 1871 as the eldest son of Mahāmahopādhyāya Kavirāja Dvārakānāthasena,617 one of the pupils of Gaṅgādhara.618 He studied āyurveda under his father and came to be recognized as one of the foremost āyurvedic physicians of India, the first one upon whom the title of Vaidyaratna was conferred by the Government of India in 1922. He died in 1931.619
