The Guṇākara referred to is without any doubt different from the author of the same name who wrote a commentary on the Yogaratnamālā ascribed to Nāgārjuna, 225 because the latter Guṇākara is later than Vijayarakṣita. The Guṇākara quoted by Vijayarakṣita, Niścalakara and Vācaspati may belong to the eleventh century, since Vijayarakṣita lived in the first half of the twelfth century. 226
