v1.c26.s3.16
Several arguments tell against the assumption that he was. Characteristic of Aṣṭāṅgasaṃgraha and Aṣṭāṅgahṛdaya is a strong emphasis on the doctrine of the three doṣas and the seven elements of the body, while the five mahābhūtas retreat into the background in comparison with their role in Caraka- and Suśrutasaṃhitā. In contrast with this, I-ching lays stress on the crucial position of four mahābhūtas.
