v1.c26.s3.48
One of the earliest scholars to discuss the date of composition of the *Aṣṭāṅgasaṃgraha*, P. Cordier, called attention to the resemblance of this title to that of an Indian medical work known to early Arabic writers and referred to as *Kitāb asānkar al-jāmi‘*.³¹⁷ The translator of the *Asānkar* was Ibn Duhn, who also rendered another Sanskrit medical treatise into Arabic.³¹⁸
