The material collected so far demonstrates that the *Saṃgraha* is later than Dṛḍhabala’s version of the *Carakasaṃhitā*, in spite of the absence of his name. Additional support is provided by the numerous verses from Dṛḍhabala’s contributions which are identical with or closely related to verses occurring in the *Saṃgraha*. The Kalpasthāna of the *Saṃgraha* illustrates this, for it contains, when compared with the *Hṛdaya*, a large number of additional verses, literally borrowed from the Kalpasthāna of the *Carakasaṃhitā*, which derives from Dṛḍhabala.
