422 This Digambara Jain treatise, written in Kannaḍa, describes Nāgārjuna as a philosopher and alchemist, living in Karṇāṭaka in the eighth century; he is said to be the son of a sister of Pūjyapāda (K.R. Srikanta Murthy, 1992b; 293; compare V.P. Śāstrī’s Prastāvanā, 89, to his ed. of Ugrāditya’s Kalyāṇakāraka).
