v3.c42.s2.22
Hoernle claimed 76 that parallels of six formulae from the Nāvanītaka occur in the Suśrutasaṃhitā.⁷⁷ Nāvanītaka 407–412, a series of prescriptions against āmātisāra, also found in the Bhelasaṃhitā, is, in his view, based on Su.U.40.34cd–46, a long prescription on the treatment of āmātisāra, consisting of twenty options and a single directive statement at the end. He argued that both the Bhelasaṃhitā and the Nāvanītaka have drawn upon the Uttaratanṭra of the Suśrutasaṃhitā in their verses on the therapy of the disorder. His assertion on this point seems arbitrary; the textual disagreements plead against it, as well as the chronological position of the Uttaratanṭra.⁷⁸
