Some of the sources of the Yogatarangiṇī are not referred to in the Bṛhadyogatarangiṇī. These need not imply that these sources were not employed in compiling the Bṛhadyogatarangiṇī because both texts contain a large number of unidentified verses. Part of these can be identified by comparing the Yogatarangiṇī with the Bṛhadyogatarangiṇī.⁵⁰⁸ This enables us to determine at least two more sources of the Yogatarangiṇī: Bhadraśaunaka and Gorakṣamata.⁵⁰⁹ A comparison of both works also shows that there are very numerous variants in the readings of essentially the same verses.
