(2) The Bṛhadyogatarangiṇī⁵⁴⁴ is much longer than the Yogatarangiṇī and consists of about 10,000 verses, arranged in 148 chapters (taraṅga). It is in many respects an expanded version of the Yogatarangiṇī, but it not only adds to the text of the latter. Many instances can be found of sequences of verses replaced by material from a different source,⁵⁴⁵ and, less frequently, verses incorporated in the Yogatarangiṇī are omitted altogether from the Bṛhadyogatarangiṇī.⁵⁴⁶ Stanzas occurring in both texts often show variant readings. The Bṛhadyogatarangiṇī contains some prose⁵⁴⁷ and a number of glosses.⁵⁴⁸
