P.V. Sharma has brought forward that Trimalla must have flourished in the middle of the seventeenth century, 667 because Bhāvamiśra and Lolimbarāja are quoted by him, and the Yogaratnākara, dating in his opinion from the last part of the seventeenth century, quotes the Yogatarangiṇī.
