The introductory verse says that the Nāḍītantra will be expounded. The next few verses (2–6ab) relate that Pārvatī asked Śiva for instruction in the difficult art of nāḍīśāstra. Śiva replies that he will transmit to her the very subtle Nāḍīcakra.
