Date Cūḍāmaṇi's chronological position can be deduced from his acquaintance with Mā-dhava Upādhyāya's Āyurvedaprakāśa. 50 His posterity to Mādhava Upādhyāya implies that he lived after the second half of the seventeenth century. 51 This date is confirmed by the quotation from Kāśinātha's Ajīrṇamañjarī, the earliest MS of which was com-pleted in A.D. 1617.
