The earliest MS of the Rasamañjarī was completed in A.D. 1546/47, 114 which indicates that the Rasamañjarī is earlier than the middle of the sixteenth century. 115 The reference to the author of the Rasamañjarī in Gopālakṛṣṇa’s Rasendrasārasaṃgraha makes it possible to push back the terminus ante quem to a period anterior to the last quarter of the fifteenth century. The upper limit cannot be ascertained. 116
