v3.c49.s6.58

Chapter eight frequently employs the term jūrti for fever, 100 although the more usual jvara is used as well. A disorder arising from the abuse of opium is referred to (8.39). The formula of rāmabāṇarasa associates agnimāndya with Daśavaktra, i.e., Rāvaṇa, saṃgrahaṇagrahaṇī with Kumbhakarṇa, 101 and āmavāta with Khara and Dūṣaṇa. 102 Contrary to usage, the formulae of the rasas of chapter eight are not attributed to divine authorities and ancient sages. 103
