The references to Somadeva, the author of the Rasendracūḍāmaṇi, establish that Yaśodhara is later. Prafulla Chandra Rāy 115 was of the opinion that the observations on the metallurgy of zinc, found in the Rasaratnasamuccaya, were based on similar observations in Yaśodhara’s work. 116 This hypothesis, which makes the Rasaprakāśasudhākara into an earlier work than the Rasaratnasamuccaya, was accepted by a number of subsequent scholars. 117
