10 B.M. Barua (1936/37) was convinced that the archaic style of the prose portions is of the same type as that met with in the older Dharmasūtras, the Arthaśāstra, etc. He also supposed that the whole of the Bhelasaṃhitā had originally been in prose and was versified partially later.
