1567 The NCC (II, 10) and N.N. Dasgupta (1936/37: 159) assume that he also wrote the Ākhyātavyākaraṇa. Th. Aufrecht (CC I, 548) regarded the author of this grammatical treatise as a distinct person. G. Hāldār (Vṛddhatrayī 465) claims that Vaṅgasena wrote commentaries on the Caraka- and Suśrutasaṃhitā.
