¹ Yasyādhyayane niyuktasya parīkshākāle pāṭhataḥ skhalitamapapāṭharūpamekaṁ jātaṁ sa uchyate Aikānyika iti *Kāśikā*. Bhaṭṭojidīkshita explains the mistake as *viparītochchāraṇarūpam*, i.e. as one of pronunciation.
