All these distractions, which are hindrances to concentration (*samādhi-pratipakshāḥ*), are to be conquered by the aforesaid two fundamental accomplishments of Yoga, viz. *Abhyāsa* and *Vairāgya*. *Abhyāsa* should be the practice of concentration on one entity such as Īśvara aforesaid (ekatatvābhyāsaḥ = ekasmin tattve Īśvare abhyāsaḥ chittasya punaḥ punaḥ niveśanam).
