**Viśoka.** The country of Viśoka had above twenty monasteries with 3,000 Sammatiya Brethren and another large monastery where wrote the great Buddhist scholars, Devaśarman and Gopa, and where Dharmapāla "held a discussion for seven days with 100 Hīnayāna Śāstra-masters and utterly defeated them" (p. 374).
