**Evolution of Vedic Sanskrit out of Secular and Spoken Tongue : Work of Learned Assemblies ('Brāhmaṇa-Saṁghas').** X, 71, 1 is itself addressed to the deity named Parabrahmajñāna. The *Bṛihaddevatā* states that "by this hymn Ṛishi Bṛihaspati invokes God as Supreme Knowledge and Blazing Radiance (sujyotiḥ) whom one can attain only through *yoga*". This hymn points out that the first step in education is the cultivation of popular speech, the spoken tongue or vernacular, by which individual objects are named (nāmadheyaṁ dadhānāḥ). But this language which deals with the objective cannot give expression to what is beyond the objective, the supreme (*śreshṭhaṁ*) and perfect (*aripraṁ*) knowledge hidden in the depths of the heart (*nihitaṁ guhāyāṁ*). That knowledge comes to light by the grace of Sarasvatī through Vedic learning (premnā āvirbhavati).
