Lastly, we come to what is called the Hymn of Creation, x, 129. "Then (*tadānīm*, at the beginning, before creation) there was neither Being (Sat) nor non-Being (*A-Sat*).¹ There was neither the atmosphere nor the heavens beyond.¹ What did it contain? Where? And under whose direction? Were there waters, and the bottomless deep?¹
