"Then for the first time Desire came to possess Him (*Kāmaḥ Tat agre samavartata adhi*), Desire that was the first seed of the Spirit (*Manasaḥ retaḥ prathamaṁ yat āsīt*). In that Desire, the Sages (*Kavayaḥ*), pondering in their hearts, with their fully developed mental faculties (*manīshā*), fourd out the link between Being and non-Being.
