ANANTA (*fl. ca.* 1600) Ananta, the son of Āpadeva, is apparently the grandson of the Mahārāṣṭrian saint Ekanātha (1528?-1600) and the grandfather of Anantadeva (*fl. ca.* 1675), the author of the *Smṛtikaustubha*. Ananta wrote a *Nakṣatrasattreṣṭiprayoga* or *Nakṣatreṣṭinirūpaṇa*. Manuscripts:
