The Rājā of Mewar from 19 January 1597 to 26 January 1620, Amarasiṃha I patronized the son of Mathurā (Mathurātmaja, q.v.), who wrote an *Amarabhūṣaṇa* and an *Iṣṭaghaṭikāśodhana* which are sometimes attributed to Amarasiṃha himself.
