The pupil of Gārgya Nīlakaṇṭha (b. ca. 14 June 1444) and the teacher of Śaṅkara Vāriyar (fl. 1556), Citrabhānu wrote a Karaṇāmṛta whose epoch is given as Kali 4608 = A.D. 1507 in the second verse, but whose chronogram in the last verse is 1,691,513 or ca. 30 March 1530.
