The son of Narasimha, the son of Rājapāla, the son of Jāhilla of the Prāgvāṭakula, a minister of finance of the Caulukya monarch Bhīma I (*fl. ca.* 1031/1065), Durlabharāja was made a mahattama by Kumārapāla (*fl. ca.* 1143/1172). He began the *Sāmudrikatilaka* in 800 āryās in ca. A.D. 1160; it was finished by his son, Jagaddeva (*fl. ca.* 1175). Manuscripts;
