The son of Bhāgīrathī and Balabhadra Pāṭhaka, the son of Gaṅgādhara Pāṭhaka, the son of Rāmacandra Pāṭhaka of the Nāgarajāti, and a pupil of Harīśaṅkara, Devabhadra wrote a vyākhyā on the Nakṣatrasatrasūtra of Baudhāyana, completed on Sunday 2 kṛṣṇapakṣa of Bhādrapada in Saṃ. 1812 = 21 September 1755.
