One last case may be considered to illustrate the influx of *jyotiṣis* from Vidarbha into Kāśī in the sixteenth century. This family (see Table 15) originated at Dharmapura on the Narmadā in the early part of that century, but became prominent—primarily as astrologers—at Kāśī toward the end of the century.
