A siddhānta in which the influence of both the Āryapakṣa and the Saurapakṣa as well as that of Brahmagupta’s BSS are apparent is the Vaṭeśvarasiddhānta⁷⁴ composed by Vaṭeśvara at Ānandapura in Gujarāt in 904; the arrangement of the chapters follows that of Lalla’s ŚDV. One of the more interesting sections is that (VS 1, 1, 10) in which Vaṭeśvara criticizes Brahmagupta as Brahmagupta had criticized his predecessors, and especially Āryabhaṭa (BSS 11).
