Kazwini, a native of Kazwin in Iran, compiled an encyclopaedia named *Ajaibu-l Makhlukat era Ghaivaibu-Maujudat* (*Wonders of things created, and marvels of things existing*) in A.D. 1275. In it he described the Sun temple of Multan and the temple of Somnath in Gujarat.
