Aniruddha goes so far as to hold that both ‘isomeric’ and ‘polymeric’ (or ‘heterogenic’) combinations are real cases of constitutive contact. (आरम्भक संयोग, e.g. भौतिकवायोर्देहारम्भकत्वम्—अनिरुद्ध on Sútra 113, Chap. V.) But in the later Sánkhya-Pátañjala the current teaching denied this—बहूनामुपादानायोगात (Sútra 102, Chap V), when विज्ञानभिक्षु notes—बहूनां भिन्नजातीयानां चोपादानत्वं न दृष्टमिति सजातीयमेवोपादानम्। इतरच्च भूतचतुष्टयमुपष्टम्भकम्।
