Rasratnasamuchchaya is a typical production of the Iatrochemical Period. The names of treatises dealing with medicinal chemistry are simply legion. But they are all cast in the same mould, and the close similarity of their contents would render their translation only a work of supererogation. We have, therefore, confined ourselves to quoting only such parallel passages as are calculated to throw light upon, or corroborate the authenticity of the text of Rasaratnasamuchchaya.
