contemporary of Śila, son of Śri Harṣa, who reigned in 700 A. D., the very nature of his works which are purely Tāntric, shows him to be a writer, who must have flourished in the eighth century. For it is about this time, that Tāntrism was becoming the all-important subject of the day.
