⁵ *Ibid.*, p. 47. Scholars are divided on Vasubandhu's date. Bhattacharyya, (*Tattvasaṅgraha*, G.O.S., XXX, foreword, p. LXVI), would like to place him in A.D., 280-360. Whereas Winternitz (*I. H., Q.*, March 1933, p, 5, n.) seems to be inclined to place him with Prof. Ui in A.D., 320-400.
