(1) *Anuśāsana*, which according to Sāyaṇa, is the name given to the six *Vedāṅgas*, viz.:
(a) *Śikṣā* (Phonetics), (b) *Kalpa* (Ritualistic knowledge), (c) *Vyākaraṇa* (Grammar), (d) *Nirukta* (Exegetics), (e) *Chandas* (Metrics) and (f) *Jyotiṣa* (Astronomy).
