Now Hiuen Tsiang⁴ speaks of one Pūrṇavarma who presented to Nālandā “a figure of Buddha standing upright and made of copper, 80 feet in height,” and to cover which he constructed a pavilion of six stages. This Pūrṇavarma, as Heras⁵ thinks, was the last of the Maukhāris.
