Besides these references to Varmans, some seals and an inscription have been discovered which contain references to Varmans. One of the seals speaks of Sureśvaravarman and his geneology⁶. But the scanty data furnished by the seals is a little improved by a recent discovery of an inscription at Nālandā.¹ Herein, we are told that Mālāda, a minister of King Yaśovarmmadeva made various kinds of offerings to the Nālandā monks, paid for their daily food and donated money equal to the price of the whole Nālandā institution.²
