This inscription fills up the gap which would otherwise have been felt in the account of kings connected with Nālandā. For after Harṣa no royal personage is, at present, known to have extended his hand of generosity to the University until we meet the Pālas in or about the year A.D. 750. Yaśovarmmadeva-inscription is proved to belong to the king of the same name who reigned from 734-748 A.D.
