If this much can be said to the credit of a foreign king in relation to Nālandā, much more could be said of a king who was the actual witness to the splendour and glory of an institution, which drew from a foreign king a munificent gift, in spite of the fact, that we have, as yet, not discovered any evidence of Dēvapāla having built a monastery at Nālandā.
