These formulae recur in a number of Jaina religious and semi-religious works, e. g. the *Jambudvīpasamāsa* of Umāsvāti (fourth *Āhnika*), the *Laghusaṁghāyaṇi* of Haribhadra Sūri, which contents itself with the expressions for the circumference and area of a circle (Verse 7).
