Vāsudeva hailed from Kaṇṇamaṅgalam and wrote a metrical commentary on a hitherto unrecognised *Muhūrtapadavī* (V) beginning with the words *cakrārdham mṛtvaidhṛtam ca gulikaḥ*. Two versions of this commentary, which is called *Bhāṣāsaṅgraha*, are known, one in 178 verses and the other in 185 verses ;³ to all appearances, Vāsudeva himself has effected this revision.⁴
