The (diagonal) line cuts the breadth (*tiryaṅmānī*) of the square lying inside the rectangle; the northern portion is cut off (by drawing a line through this point parallel to *prācī*); the southern side becomes the breadth (*tiryaṅmānī*) of the (desired) rectangle.
