The cord makes a right-angled triangle XYB. The right-angled triangle has been used for the construction of the isosceles trapezium ABCD where Δs XYU, *EFC*, *EBF*, *ELF* and *EKF* are equal and VY = AE = ED, and YU = BF = FC Here ABCD is the *mahāvedi* (Fig. 5(c)).
