*Dāsacaritam* of Śrīśailasuri is a poem in sixteen cantos dealing with the Viśiṣṭādvaita philosophy, particularly the Vaiṣṇava tradition. The protagonist, Rāmānujadāsa, is initiated into Vaiṣṇavism by Śrīraṅgalakṣmaṇa Muni along with his wife. The poem describes his spiritual journey and inner quest as well as his pilgrimage to 108 holy places. The fifth canto has discourses on two systems for their refutation. Rāmānujadāsa is first inclined to join the Cārvāka system, but gives up the idea after exploring the system; then he is also influenced by the Śaiva sect. Finally he approaches Śrīraṅgalakṣmaṇa Muni.
