²⁰ I have collected all the available excerpts of Mātṛgupta’s *kārikās* reproduced by his successors in my *Aprāptanāṭyaśāstrīya Grantha*. The same has also been reproduced in my *Nāṭyaśāstraviśvakośa*. Regarding the three varities of *rasa* based on three types of *abhinaya*, Rāghavabhaṭṭa quotes him: रसास्तु त्रिविधा ज्ञेया वाङ्नेपथ्यस्वभावजाः। रसानुरूपैरालापैः श्लोकैर्वाक्यैः पदैस्तथा। नानालङ्कारसंयुक्तैर्वाचिको रस उच्यते।।
