literary evidence, the general significance of medicine, the education and career of the physicians, the hospitals, the implications of medical wisdom, signs and names of diseases (ch. I). Next, the relationship between macrocosm and microcosm is analyzed, the doctrine of the life force and of breath, the theory of the humors and of the body, the teaching of anatomy and physiology are discussed (ch. II). It is safe to say, then, that the book, though fragmentary, covers most of the important aspects of Hindu medicine.
